6. Plant space is more important than décor space. The welfare of your plants should be prioritized. They are the reason for your garden. Their safety and optimal living conditions should not be compromised for aesthetic reasons.

7. Simplicity is in. A lot of gardens nowadays go for the minimalist approach. After all, many people believe that to fully savor your garden, you should be able to walk around it. Try creating pathways using pebbles, rock and slabs. The combination can be very elegant while being simple (and inexpensive) at the same time.

8. Lawn and garden décor should jive with the plants, not the other way around. There are decorations that may prove unhealthy for certain types of plants. Wooden decors, for example, can be infested by pests that would feed on growing crops. Birdhouses and birdbaths will attract avian creatures that may ruin some annuals.

9. The decors and the plants should complement the house. Often, the mistake of many landscape artists is that they take the house out of the picture whenever they design gardens. This shouldn’t be the case. Gardens aren’t isolated areas. They remain as a part of the home.

10. Flexibility is key. Lawn and garden décor should not crowd the garden space. Remember, there will be occasions when you’ll need the area for the entertainment of your guests.

Want to put your lawn and garden décor to good use? Some methods have become quite passé. Simply bundling your ornaments with the plants is quite simplistic, and may compromise design. Buying these decors at random might even ruin the general theme you have in mind.

Before planning, and eventually buying, lawn and garden décor, please take note of the following tips that will ensure a better and more beautiful garden for your home.

1. Color is the key. Your garden must possess symmetry of colors. There are no rules to follow here. You just need a plan before purchasing the ornaments you may need.

2. Contrast is not a bad thing. Conflicting color schemes can work. A solid colored arch or arbor, for example, would make vibrantly hued flowers show more. But…

3. Conflicting design elements can ruin the potentials of your garden. You cannot introduce components that will not complement each other.

4. You need a centerpiece. You can’t have massive garden structures scattered all over the place. Your garden has to have a focal point where your visitors’ eyes will rest.

5. Location, location, location! This aspect isn’t only important for the real estate business. The overall layout of your garden, as well as your choice of lawn and garden décor, will depend on how much space you could accord for your garden.

Home garden décor can be anything that would aesthetically complement your indoor setup. It can be the ornamental pots where you’d want to place your flowers. Or even window designs that will add color to the area once sunlight passes through the same. There are also miniaturized arches, arbors and even trellises that are perfect for home gardening. For the more adventurous, topiary tools are likewise available to make any plant a home garden décor in itself!

Believe it or not, even watering cans have become a category of home garden décor. Watering cans these days come in a variety of shapes and sizes, often with unique designs that will make anyone take notice. There are watering cans shaped like animals. There are watering cans shaped like famous structures. And there are watering cans shaped quite oddly, preferring the abstract route instead.

One thing is certain: when it comes to indoor gardening, you will never run out of decorative options. There is always a way, as well as an ornament, that will help bring your home garden to life. Finding the right one is a matter of finding a décor that has a lot of functionality and is built with a lot of style. It is also a matter of preference, as well as what will make the indoor garden look more complete. Nevertheless, the quest to find the decoration for your home garden will most certainly prove to be an enjoyable experience.

There’s a new trend emerging among gardening enthusiasts. Since space constraint is a common problem among those who enjoy gardening, a new breed of this hobby has developed. It’s called indoor gardening, or home gardening as it is called in other circles.

Home gardening involves the cultivation of plants inside one’s home. This can be accomplished in many ways. A mini-greenhouse would be the easiest to imagine. Home gardeners usually select a spot inside their house which receives an adequate amount of sunlight. They reserve this spot for rows of seedlings supported by their own basins. Hence, home gardening has also been called canister gardening.

Plants in pots are also a popular option, of course. Placing them in the aforementioned area can even make the process even more convenient.

But let’s face it. No matter how convenient home gardening can be, the indoor rows of plants we will raise won’t be as vibrantly explosive as an outdoor garden.

This concern has led to the birth of a relatively new industry: home garden décor.

The fact that a sun-dial “marks only the sunny hours” doesn’t detract from its value or its charm. This silent recorder of the passing of time creates seems to have a mysterious drawing power of interest and awe.

Sun-dials were the only time-keepers known for centuries before clocks and watches were invented. Sun-dial time is called Apparent time, and clock time Mean time, and the difference between the two is known as the equation of time. A sun-dial and a clock will not agree absolutely except at four different periods of the year, for a few days in the middle of June, the middle of September, December and March. At these periods we have the typical days of the year, the longest days in June, the shortest in December, and the twelve-hour day in September and March when the sun rises and sets at six o’clock. At all other times the clock is either a few minutes faster or a few minutes later than the Apparent time. So you don’t want to “set your clock by it”, but the sun-dial has other ornamental value.
